Showcase of Edgy Myspace Page Designs
The current social network boom has made blogging, chatting, creating personal pages and catching up with old friends a new way of life. Social Networks took off in the early 2000′s, and the network who made this very popular was Myspace. In the past 5 years or so Myspace has been the most popular social network and has set the trend of how we communicate and go about our daily lives. Despite the growth of facebook and twitter, Myspace remains one of the most popular social networks out there and although its not top of the class anymore, it is still a main tool for communicating and marketing. Creating custom myspace pages has allowed many freelance designers to expand their market. Almost everyone have a custom page in some sorts. Rather its a background a user download from a layout site, or if its a model or musician who hires a firm to create a fully custom page.
In this post we showcase very attractive modern myspace designs from hip hop, models, pop, and rock acts we present to you our first showcase as it relates to social networking design.
The trends that goes along with myspace design are very edgy, urban, colorful design styles. Most of them includes very cool or dark backgrounds, lighting effects, photography, and various of objects and brush tools. We put together this showcase by adding designs from a couple of different freelance designers such as: digital designz media group ( brilliance, design starz ), Darell the designer, and C-LE. Because most of these pages are changed we will not link the pages but you can still visit the actual designers portfolios to see more.
Creative Modern Myspace Designs
Xstal
This design is very sexy and unique. It includes a very seductive photo with a background that almost looks like it could be a passage way or a cool view. Her logo stands outs very much and the colors used really gives you that mode of something very sensual.
Whitey
This page has a very cool background that includes graffiti and a brick wall. This gives you a feeling of something very urban and grungy. He implements various of music related objects that points to this artist being a DJ. His photo used is the use of a very good idea that shows him holding his logo.
Tiffany Stone
This is a more relaxing type of design. It still holds that edgy feeling but it is a bit more mellow. It features the main photo with a complementing picture which blends into the background sky.
Stacie Lynn
The Stacie Lynn Myspace Design gives you a cool Hollywood type of feel. It has this really attractive model with a seductive pose with the illustration that she is on the red carpet walking to her limo. In the background you get this LA / Miami feel with the city background and palm tress, the sun is shining but it is purple. This is very unique and it fits perfect for this design style.
Rick Ross
Rick Ross is hip hops biggest boss in the South. Being the boss that he is, its no surprise he has to have a on top of the world feel to his myspace design. The design gives Rick Ross a mafia type of style almost in a portrait setting. The design is very rich and this shows that edgy design styles can have a elegant touch to it that works very well.
Nyna Black
This design makes use of very good photoshop objects. The photograph sets the mood with her flight attendant hat. She is on a runway with a private jet. Now this is very cool because the plane which is a cut out photoshop object also has her name on the side. This is a very good design and it shows you how cool photo editing could be.

Nate Mathers
The Digital Designz Media Group did a very good job while designing the myspace page of the most famous rapper in the world Eminem brother, Nate Mathers. Nate gave myself full creative control over the concept of this design. We added a dark city in the background with a broken into room on the forefront. Although its very hard to see the entire design but the rest of the design features a television with his music video, a storm with rain and lightening, the speakers booming with the music and other cool flash features.
Christina Milian
The Christina Milian design has cool lightening effects with unique brushes and texture patterns. The photography has a blue tint which adds a very colorful feel.
Maxine
This design has a grunge, edgy feel to it that fits perfect for any rock artist. It has a main photo, with a background picture and the logo which is used as a pattern.
Lucifers Daughter
This design has a dark-urban feel to it. It has the main photo which is inside of a warehouse. This design features a lot of PSD Objects as well as diamond patterned typography.
Lewd Society
This design is very unique in many ways. It features a very edgy yet colorful design style. Very cool lightening effects and the use of good photography, brushes and various of glows.
Kaz
The Kaz myspace design is minimalistic but good. It features various psd objects such as the airplanes, the photo frame and the smoke brush. The logo stands out and it complements the color on the design very well.
DJ Who
This design make use of a good Las Vegas feel. The logo stands out with lots of objects that gives you that high roller feel. Money, chips and the las vegas skyline makes this myspace design very cool.
Digital Designz Media Group
The name speaks for its self. Very basic here, this is one of our first myspace designs. We wanted to keep this one simple by just displaying our logo as the main feature.
Brilliance Worldwide
This design makes use of a lot of PSD Objects. The signs, logo, speakers, boom box, money bag, microphone, money, the list goes on but this is a perfect example of an object oriented design.
Brilliance
Another version of brilliance myspace design is more simple, which promotes his music.
Bree
This design uses good lightening effects and make great use of backgrounds and textures.
Black Lagoon
This design is very simple. It has cool brush glows and a very soft tone design.
Conclusion

Now THAT IS what I’d call an insightful thought on things. What I would suggest perhaps is talking to other people actively involved in the scene and bring to day any other points of view and then update your blog or create a new post for us to stew over. Hopefully you’ll take my advice, I’m looking forward to it! Try to cover off on some graffiti characters as well if possible, they’re quite popular at the moment.
